• Question: is science the job you have always wanted

      Like most boys, I wanted to play soccer. Then I realised I wasnt cut out for that.
      I was always good at maths and curious about that world. Some decent teachers in school and the rest was history. At 15 I set my goal on getting a PhD and it goes from there.

      Hi Saoirse,
      In school I didn’t know what job I wanted and I’m still not exactly sure what I want to do after my PhD. I chose to study science because it’s a broad degree that gives you lots of options and then I just followed my interests and it’s all worked out pretty well so far! I love my job and I’m glad that I chose science 🙂

      It was but I never really knew it until I got to college. I wanted to be a mechanic because I liked fixing things but then I discovered that you can fix things in mathematics too — they’re called “maths problems” and they’re just as interesting, but you don’t get all oily being a maths mechanic!!

      Nope I didnt know at all for a long time, after secondary I thought I wanted to be a teacher and then decided I would be a teaching scientist instead after I saw what scientists do in Universities.
