      Hi,

I had a maths and chemistry teacher in secondary who saw something in me and encouraged me. I also read a lot so my local librarian was a great help in getting books. This was around the time Stephen Hawking became well known.

I college, I had two professors in Germany who inspired me to mesh computers and chemistry together and get interesting findings.

And to this day, there are still people who inspire me to like science, such as some of the people I work with. It never stops!

      Hi,
I’m similar to Michael – I was inspired by my teachers at school and some great lecturers in college. But even before then I’ve always loved nature documentaries, especially anything by David Attenborough and my mum was definitely the first person to get me interested in nature; she still calls me out to the garden to see a pretty spider’s web!
