      Hi Caitlin,

I did the Leaving Cert which is a bit different to A-levels because you do more subjects. We had to do English, Irish and Maths and then I chose to do French, History, Home Economics, Biology and Chemistry. You need two science subjects at leaving cert level to do and science-related degrees, I loved French because we had a great teacher, I also liked History because it taught me how to write factual essays (really important in science!) and then Home Ec was fun because it overlapped with Biology and it involved baking! Leaving Cert can be stressful but it helps if you pick subjects that you’re interested in and of you try to mix up your study so that you move around between harder and easier topics. Also, if you’re not sure what you want to do after school, then try and choose subjects which will keep your options open.
      Hope this helps
      Sive

      Hi Caitlin…

I did chemistry, physics, maths, irish/english/french, history, technical drawing. the languages were a lot of stress for no reward, but that was offset by the science subjects. So it balanced out, although I was doing my french homework at 9pm on a sunday having put it off all weekend 🙂

      Hey Caitlin,
I did English, Irish and Maths and chose French (luckly enough because I moved to France), Biology, Physics and Art. I didnt stress so much in school except for Maths, I was dossing down the back of the huge (35 students) class until the pre-exams. After the pre-exams, there were only 12 girls left and I couldnt hide anymore and had to get grinds from a nice Prof Weeto like character! but in the end I did ok in the final exams.
