• Question: Was it hard to dissect a fly's brain?

      Hi,

      Yes, they’re tiny so I had to do everything under a microscope! I used metal tweesers with very fine points so I could hold onto the flies heads (after they were separated from their bodies). I used one tweeser to hold the head steady and then the other one to “peal” away the skin and the eyes on the head so I was just left with the brain underneath. It took a lot pf practice to only take away the skin without damaging the brain underneath. I got the hang of it eventually though so I guess it’s a skill for life now 🙂
