      Hi,

      There’s no fixed rule but it seems like elephants sleep around 6-9 hours per day. But it’s not all in one go – they usually sleep for a few hours before dawn and then again during the heat of the day. This is a fairly common pattern for lots of animals. It makes sense to sleep during mid-day because it’s too hot to do very much and many animals feed at night to avoid predators.
