      I love discovering new things which no one else knows! I also love getting to meet interesting people and travel to some cool places 🙂

      I like best the travelling. Most of my colleagues would say that as well.

      I regularly travel to present my work at international conferences, e.g. in New Orleans this year or Australia in 2011. These trips also serve as a chance to put my name out there and get known by the people in my field.

      I also travel for networking as part of a big EU funded research network where we meet 2/3 times a year and exchange discussion and students.

      Finally, I travel to people I work with in, e.g. the UK or the USA and we discuss what we have done to date and want to do. Last month I went to Chicago to discuss a three-way project that includes a group in Northern Ireland – a good example of how international scientific work is.

      I love the discoveris too, but also the late night pub discussions where with coworkers we try to figure stuff out, and sometimes manage it!
